His professional career has focused on the practice, teaching and research in art.
He studied Bachelor of Fine Arts (1986-1991) and Doctor of Fine Arts (1996) at the Shool of San Carlos in Valencia (Spain). He also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York (USA) in 1995.
His career as an artist has focused on a figurative painting, which aims to wonder about the nature of reality, media that have been expanding progressively to other ones such as sculpture, drawing or installation.
His artworks has been exhibited at several individual shows, highlighting Galería Buades in Madrid (1995); Club Diario Levante of Valencia («The flight is worth», 1993); University in Valencia («The shrinking man», 1995); Gallery 4 in Valencia («Custom-made lies», 1998); Muelle 27 Gallery in Madrid («World of J.V. Marjov», 2003) and the Espai d’Art «La Llotgeta» in Valencia («Homunculum and demons», 2006).
The collective exhibitions include the National Young Artists Exhibition (1993), «Muelle de Levante» at Club Diario Levante in Valencia and at Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid (1994-1995) or «Plural. The Spanish art in the 21st century» at the building of the Senate in Madrid (2002), among many others.
His artworks are in collections such as the Valencia Congress’ in Valencia, the collection of Art Contemporary La General in Granada or the collection of contemporary art «City of Pamplona», among others. Likewise critics of art and theoreticians as Juan Manuel Bonet, J.R. Danvila, Fernando Huici, Miguel Fernández-Cid, Horacio Fernández, Vicente Jarque and José Manuel Alvarez Enjuto have referenced his artwork.
It is a founding member of the collective The Mutual Society of Art (www.lamutuaartistica. com).
In the academic field, he began his career with a scholarship for training researchers (1992-1996), which concluded with the thesis “Portraits of Fernando Arrabal. Between commissioned painting and the theory of the Panic group» (1996) directed by Inocencio Galindo Mateo. This research was materialized in the exhibition «Visions of Fernando Arrabal», on the relations of the playwright born in Melilla with painting, organized by the Consortium of the Museums of the Valencian Community, that was exhibited in the cities of Valencia, Madrid, Alicante, Zaragoza and Lisbon between 1999 and 2000.
As researcher has participated in several projects of R&D whose main results has been, the edition, shared with Inocencio Galindo, of the book «Image and knowledge. Artistic tradition and technological innovation» (Editorial Polytechnic University of Valencia, 2008) and the national patent “Diorama viewer with selective focus” (number: 201100414, dated 16/6/2014)
He wrote the books «History as a model in German Romanticism» (Miguel Hernández of Elche, 2014) and «Minerva in the campus. An approach to Fine Arts considered as a university discipline» (Polytechnic University of Valencia, 2007; with Inocencio Galindo).
After being a teacher at secondary education in fine arts from 1998 to 2000, he started to work as a professor and a researcher at the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (Alicante) in 2000 until now.
He has held different positions of academic management, being dean of the School of Fine Arts in Altea since 2008 until now. He is also currently director of the Master in Project and Research in Art.
